Back to my blog. After the ice storm in February that we experienced, I decided to have my sec. 1 & 2 students research a bit about the 1998 ice storm which struck Quebec, eastern Ontario and some states. This led to research into other Canadian disasters. They are reading and writing (reports and narratives ) about and discussing  natural disasters that happened in Canada.
Sec 1 & 2 please see the page for due dates for your assignments.

Winter is here finally. We've had some snow but not enough for a snow day yet! Everyone is back in the groove of school after a very short Christmas break. Right now our sec 1 & 2  and the sec. 3 ELA classes are rereading fairy tales. Sec. 3s rewrote "Sleeeping Beauty" from Maleficent's point of view, and showed that actually she was not such a villain after all. The sec. 1 & 2  are working on news writing and will shortly be producing a newspaper reporting all the news events in the lives of our fairy tale characters.
